The Friends of the Bloomfield Public Libraries is a nonprofit volunteer organization dedicated to the support of the libraries through fundraising and advocacy. Our members are active users of the libraries and help raise community awareness and appreciation of their services and resources. We believe that excellent libraries are essential to our community.
The Friends raise and receive funds in order to provide support for programs, materials and equipment that might not otherwise be made available. The Friends have funded a variety of library projects, including new children’s computers at both libraries, a mobile computer classroom, and state-of-the-art cinema and audio equipment, as well as artist/author events and summer reading programs for children and adults. We do this through:
- Memberships and generous financial donations
- Book sales in the spring and fall, and book carts at each library, offering thousands of donated books and media
- Time and talent of exceptional volunteers – like you!
