Find a Good Book

BooksLooking for a good book to read next? Check out these great resources to find a book that matches your interests, expands your mind, or stretches your imagination!

  • A great place to start looking for a good book is in the Encore Online Library Catalog, which contains records for all items in the Bloomfield Public Library collections, as well as records for every library item owned by each of the 30 libraries in our consortium. Most book records in the catalog feature read-alike titles and authors, series information, and reviews under the You Might Also Like and Extras sections. For more catalog search tips, visit the Search the Library Catalog page. If an item is not currently available, you may place a hold on it.
  • Ask a librarian for a book recommendation.
  • Consider reading a classic book, or see if your favorite films are based on books.
  • Attend a book discussion at the library. See the library event calendar for upcoming discussion dates and titles. Extra copies of the book will be available at the library prior to the discussion date. Trying to find a title or extra copies for your own book group? Check out our services to book groups.
