Voting

Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, 2020

Every Connecticut voter will have the opportunity to safely and securely cast their ballot by the method of their choosing and make their voice heard.”
– Secretary of State Denise Merrill

  • All voters are eligible to vote by absentee ballot for the 2020 election by checking the COVID-19 excuse on the application. Please note that you can choose to go to your safe polling location on Election Day. Polls will be open from 6 AM to 8 PM for you to cast your vote in person.
  • Although absentee ballot applications will be mailed to every eligible voter, they are also available in English and Spanish at myvote.ct.gov/absentee.
  • Absentee ballot voters are encouraged to use the secure ballot drop box (Bloomfield drop box is located on the Park Avenue side of the Town Hall building) to return their absentee ballot applications and the ballots themselves, in order to be sure that all mailings are received in a timely fashion.
  • By law, absentee ballots cannot be mailed out before October 2nd, and they must be received by 8:00 PM on Election Day. Use the secure ballot drop boxes in your town to ensure that they are received on time!
  • Anyone encountering election-related problems can contact the Election Day hotline at 1-866-733-2463 or by sending an email to elections@ct.gov.
