Heartstopper Fan Party for Teens (Dec. 19 @ 4:00 PM) (BPL Atrium)

Are you a fan of Heartstopper: the online web comic, graphic novels, novellas, or Netflix TV show? To celebrate Volume 5’s book release, join us at this fan party! The book publisher, Scholastic Graphix, provided us with free swag to give away, we’ll eat snacks, and talk about our favorite parts of the book (no TV show spoilers, please). Henna with Dhanyah Bascom (Dec. 27, 3-5 PM) (BPL Atrium)

Local artist Dhanyah Bascom will visit our BPL Atrium during school vacation week to do some temporary henna tattoos for kids, tweens, and teens! Dhanyah Bascom’s artistry combines traditional imagery with pop culture images to create incredibly unique and dynamic henna designs. She uses fresh, all natural henna cones and provides after-care instructions for all. She will be with us for two afternoons (Dec. 27 3-5 PM & Dec. 27 4-6 PM). No registration necessary, though it will be first-come, first served, so expect that you may need to wait for your turn. Read more >

Zen Teen: Mindful Lunch, Journaling, and More (Dec. 29, 12-2 PM) (BPL Atrium)

At this Zen Teen special event, we will enjoy a healthy lunch together, while learning about mindful eating. We will use this learning experience to kick off our journaling for 2024 initiative. Each participant will go home with a journal and some writing prompts for the new year. More hands-on activities will be included to celebrate the school break. Please register by December 27 so we can buy food ingredients. Open to students in grades 7-12, limited space available. Read more >
