Take & Make: MOON PHASES CALENDAR (Starting Sept. 26) (Prosser & McMahon)

In anticipation of International Observe the Moon Night (IOMN) on Oct. 1st, we will be handing out a “take and make” item developed by the educational division of the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory: A 2022 Moon Phases Calendar. With a few simple steps, you can create your own device to show you what phase the moon will be at throughout 2022! Stop by either BPL location to pick up your ‘take and make’ kit starting on Sept. 26th. For all ages (though younger children will need help in assembling). While supplies last. Read more >

Moon Observation Party on the Town Green – All Ages (Sat., Oct. 1 @ 7:30 PM)

Join BPL on International Observe the Moon Night (Oct. 1)! We’ll gather across the street from Prosser Library on the Town Green to look at the moon through high-powered binoculars and a telescope. There will be snacks, glow necklaces, and more! Perfect for all ages – no registration required. This event is weather permitting – there will be no rain date.

BPL Youth Giveaways for Hispanic Heritage Month (starting Oct. 3, all locations)

BPL is proud to help our patrons celebrate National Hispanic Heritage month with some special take-homes for youth! For elementary school children and older, we have a ‘take and make’ DIY Taino Petroglphys activity. For tweens and teens, we have 2 books that we will give out thanks to donations from publishers:
Shine On, Luz Véliz! by Rebecca & Lowriders to the Rescue by Cathy Camper & Raul the Third. Simply visit either of our BPL locations to claim your take-home item. One per child please, while supplies last. Read more >

Pokémon Club at Prosser! (Sat., Oct. 8 @ 1:00 PM)

Kids are invited to the Children’s Room at our Prosser location to hang out with other Pokémon fans, trade cards, and more! Miss Nicole will have a few extra cards on hand for first-time collectors to help them build up their starter decks, and some Pokémon-themed board games will be on-hand for added fun.
