Nature Walk in Filley Park for All Ages (Sat., July 9 @ 11:00 AM) (Meet at Prosser!)

Bloomfield Public Library invites you to get outside this summer and enjoy a nature walk in beautiful Filley Park! We will meet at Prosser Library in the Children’s Room, fill up our water bottles, and then head over to Filley Park on foot. Members of the Filley Park Committee will join us to provide a little history about the park and help in identifying some of the trees and more. All attendees will receive a complimentary reusable water bottle. Children will also receive a nature journal and magnifying glass to take with them on our nature walks! Due to Bloomfield road work, this month we will meet in-person, off-site at Simsbury Public Library, 725 Hopmeadow Street. Join us for s’mores and more!

At this no-stress book discussion, join readers in their 20s, 30s, and 40s to talk about current book picks. You do not need to be reading anything to participate. A partnership between Bloomfield Public Library and Simsbury Public Library and open to all. We hope to see you there. Read more >

Gentle Yoga with Pia Oliveri (Virtual) (Wed., July 6th @ 11:30 AM)

Join us for yoga with Pia Oliveri
Pia is the Owner and Director of Wabi-Sabi Yoga and Wellness Center in Windsor, CT. Through yoga, meditation and breath work she believes healing happens from the inside out. Her Gentle Yoga Class is a true representation of the Eight Limbs of Yoga! We will start with Meditation and breath work followed by seated postures and standing postures with the assistance of a chair.

Washington, DC: Cherry Blossoms and Monuments (Virtual) (Thur., July 7th @ 2:00 PM)

Join Bloomfield’s own Friendship Tours on a virtual adventure to Washington, DC. During this Virtual Tour of our Nation’s Capital, we will explore two of the most exciting times to be in Washington DC: the Cherry Blossom Festival and our Nation’s Birthday – the 4th of July. In addition to these two celebrations, we will learn about the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History & Culture, the MLK Jr. Memorial, the FDR Memorial, the Tidal Basin & Jefferson Memorial. Join Brett Isaacson, President of Friendship Tours, as we explore these highlights of Washington, DC!
